The slippery paint in San Ġwann may cause fatal accidents BAG

first_img SharePrint Facebook – BAGFacebook – BAG The Bicycle Advocacy Group (BAG) deemed the new cycling lanes in Tal-Balal Road as “substandard” and “unsafe”, as they may lead to fatal accidents.On Facebook, BAG urged its members and other cyclists not to use the lanes painted in green at Tal-Balal Road in San Ġwann. Firstly, it stated that paint is not a substitute for infrastructure, and that the design will increase the danger to people travelling on bicycles, along with confusing car drivers.Secondly, the paint is deemed to be “slippery”, rendering such lanes dangerous in wet conditions as they may cause fatal accidents.
