This is a non-tenuretrack contract position at the Assistant, Associate, or FullProfessor level depending on the qualifications of thecandidate.Qualifications include: a PhD or Master’s degree preferably in afield focused on the discipline and pedagogy ofcommunication/writing (e.g. Engineering Education specializing intechnical communication, English specializing in technicalcommunication) or an engineering field with significant experiencein written and oral technical communication and teaching experienceby appointment start date. Preferred qualifications include:experience in a mechanical engineering or related discipline,experience working or teaching in a STEM field or environment, andassessment experience. We are seeking highly-qualified candidatescommitted to a career in teaching and research inpedagogy/communication. The successful candidate will beresponsible for developing, coordinating and implementing theMechanical Engineering undergraduate communication program. Dutieswill include: developing a new one-credit Discourse in MechanicalEngineering course; collaborating with faculty in other courseswithin the curriculum on communication instruction; deliveringinstruction, discourse critiques, workshops, and assignments;recruiting, organizing, training and collaborating with graduatestudents and undergraduate student assistants.
