The successfulcandidate should have experience in one or more of the domainsrelated to computer and network technologies, cybersecurity toolsand incident response, digital forensics, cybercrime, socialimpacts of cyberspace, and cyber law and policy. An associateapplicant should have a documented track record of seeking externalfunding and scholarship. Applicants with researchinterests/specializations in cybersecurity for GIS/geospatialanalysis, unmanned aircraft systems, remote sensing, spatialanalysis, and/or avionics are considered a plus.The successful candidate will contribute to SSIA’sinterdisciplinary Homeland Security program. In addition, theperson will support the department and college to help thedepartment to integrate technology into the existing HomelandSecurity and Global Conflict Studies undergraduate degree programsas well as other programs external to the department. Primary tasksinclude undergraduate teaching and research, student advising, andrelationship building with external organizations and agencies. Theposition requires teaching flexibility to cover a variety ofcourses in cybersecurity, digital forensics, and cybercrime. Otheressential duties include scholarship, professional development,committee participation, and other activities designed to supportthe Security Studies & International Affairs Department. Atypical class load is 4/4, although research active faculty –through publishing and external funding — may expect a reducedload. This is a nine-month position with the possibility of summerteaching assignments.QualificationsAn earned doctorate in a cybersecurity-related discipline such asComputer Science, Information Technology, or CybersecurityEngineering or related field; a proven track record of coursedevelopment and teaching experience in cybersecurity (for Associateprofessor); proven track record of academic publishing; and grantproposal development (for Associate professor). Must have knowledgeof technical as well as policy and procedural aspects ofcybersecurity.
